Vote for your Greener local Champion on May 6th
Vote Liberal Democrat on 6 May and you'll get a local champion who will get things done in your community.
You'll get a cleaner, greener, safer neighbourhood where recovery comes first and local people are listened to.
CLEANER, GREENER SAFER NEIGHBOURHOODS.
Lib Dem Councils have a record of delivering greener, cleaner areas where we're in power locally.
Four out of the top five councils in England for recycling are either Lib Dem led or run - including first placed Lib Dem-run Three Rivers Council.
Lib Dem run Bath Council was the first in the country to introduce a clean air zone - protecting generations to come from dangerous dirty air. Protecting children against the risk of asthma which many in cities suffer from.
Closer to home, Lib Dem run Chelmsford have planted 13,000 trees and many more have innovative plans to tackle the climate emergency.
To create a local green revolution, Suffolk Liberal Democrats have set out plans for a locally-led Green, Carbon Neutral County.
We would aim to plant 120 new trees, replacing 2 for 1. We would introduce a solar energy scheme for businesses and promote a new low carbon purchasing policy, undertake environmental audits for our schools and colleges and aim to make Suffolk County Council carbon neutral in-house by 2030.
In addition, we would invest in renewables and green energy, not environmentally damaging new nuclear power.
Flooding, impacts both coastal and inland communities so we will implement flood prevention strategy with effective drainage schemes and flood defences and mitigation projects.
In the Suffolk Lib Dems Manifesto, Getting Suffolk Back on its Feet we have set out some of the things we would do to reconnect, revive and regenerate local communities and achieve the target of a carbon neutral Council.
The question facing every voter at these local elections, in every community, across our country is this: do you want to keep hold of this precious rediscovery of community? Safeguard our natural environment and unique assets and tackle climate emergency?
This Liberal Democrat election campaign is all about your community. How we can help your community build back. How we can help local businesses on your high street, closed for months, to re-open, survive and thrive.
How together we can make your community fairer, greener, safer and more caring.
So, on May 6th, people have a fantastic opportunity to back their community, by backing over 50 Lib Democrats standing for election and who believe in their community, people who will act for and with their community - their Suffolk Liberal Democrat candidate.
Liberal Democrats do. Because Liberal Democrats have always been about community and the environment.
