David Busby
Dave moved to Suffolk in 1976 and since 1986 has lived in Capel St Mary. After working at Willis insurance brokers for 25 years he stood for the Liberal Democrats in the 2003 district council election. He won the seat and became the first councillor for the new Pinewood ward. He took on the role of Chair of Overview & Scrutiny a couple of years later.
In 2013 he expanded his involvement in the community by becoming the County Councillor for Pinewood, Sproughton, Copdock, Hintlesham, Burstall, Belstead and Wherstead. Unfortunately, his term only lasted 4 years and that is why he is eager to return as there is so much to do.
He is currently in his 18th year as a district councillor now representing Bentley, Burstall, Copdock, Hintlesham and the Wenhams. He is the LibDem representative on the Cabinet with the Assets and Investments portfolio. He has also been on the Planning Committee for 5 years fighting to preserve the identity of our villages.
He is also involved In Capel - deputy chair for the Community Trust and a Friend of Capel Library.
He is standing in his old Division of Pinewood, Sproughton, etc.
