Andrew Turner and his family have lived in Westleton for the past 17 years. Andrew has been a Public Affairs' Consultant for most of his working life which has included spells living in New York, Brussels and London. Since moving to Suffolk, where his father's side of his family originated, he has involved himself in the local community and is a Westleton Parish Councillor. Andrew's politics are rooted in a fairness and opportunity for all. He sees key local issues as the need for appropriate support for the care sector, for truly affordable housing in all our communities, and for a public transport service tailored to local demand. Andrew is also fully committed to stopping Sizewell C being built because he knows it will be the cause of wide-ranging environmental, social and economic damage on the area: it will devastate a wide area of beautiful countryside and coast which attracts thousands of tourists who are so important to the local economy; it will be the cause of horrendous traffic congestion and pollution; and the influx of thousands of workers will place further pressures on already stretched local services. Moreover, Andrew is convinced that it will be a costly white elephant as renewables will meet energy demands by the mid-2030s at a fraction of the cost of Sizewell C's power and it will leave a dangerous legacy for future generations to have to manage.
